Family Room Gallery Wall

Good morning! We are off to a productive week here at LHR. Grab a cup of coffee and come see our new gallery wall!

Our living room has needed an update since we moved in a year & a half ago. We are lucky to have a nice open floor plan at the back of our house with lovely natural light & high ceilings.  Honestly its one of the only things I truly like about this house, although they have proven to be the biggest challenges while decorating the space our family uses the most. Since we live on base housing permanent changes were unfortunately out of the question. One thing I’ve learned to remind myself while renting is the best hope for making your space feel like home is to accept and decorate around the imperfections. I know, I know, easier said than done.

As much as I enjoy having a large TV in our family room, decorating around a ginormous screen is not on my favorite to do list. Unfortunately this was the only spot available for it since our only eating area in the house is connected to this space. Luckily we’ve had a few rainy days to work on it!

I am loving the change!

Most of the empty frames where thrifted & the larger gallery frames are from Michaels. The mirror and chalkboard were left over from our projects for the Yard Sale and the fabulous horse came from Marshalls. The vintage Elk antlers (craigslist) took FOREVER to get up there, but are quickly becoming my favorite part.

I am loving how much life it has brought to our family room. The space finally feels cozy and perfect for movie night cuddles.

Although don’t let these cuties fool you, It doesn’t stay that way for too long!

  1. I LOVE the after pics. Especially the antlers 😉 And what you did under the TV. I can’t stand seeing my cords hanging from the tv so I am going to try and find something like you did.

    1. Thank you! I HATE cords & we live on base housing so putting them in the wall wasn’t an option. I found the metal wall decor at Garden Ridge, they actually sit off the wall an inch or so which helps hide all those pesky cords!
