Hello friends, thanks for stopping by! If you follow along you may know we’ve have been slowly renovating my husband’s grandparent’s little cottage. Since this is our first home, we are are excited to be tackling the kitchen for the One Room Challenge!
If you haven’t heard of One Room Challenge™ before it’s a biannual event every April and October where twenty design bloggers take the challenge and transform a space. In addition to following along, everyone with a blog, is welcome to join the fun as a Guest Participant by linking their own room transformations up during the six weeks. Each Thursday, the internet and social media are flooded with interior design inspiration, ideas, and encouragement.
Our little 1950’s cottage hasn’t been updated much in the past 60 years but it has good bones and charming details like this wood paneling his grandpa installed himself.
I hope to keep the charming cottage feel of the space, but also make a few modern changes to better fit our family.
I love the look of these gorgeous dark cabinets. I’m hoping to keep our original cabinets and update them with a little paint and new pulls.
Every cottage kitchen needs a big and beautiful farmhouse sink. I love this all-in-one Fireclay sink kit from Sinkology!
I also plan to add lots of copper touches to the space to add warmth.
Overall, I think it will create a cozy and inviting space for our little family.
Make sure to stop by next week for more progress!
