A Modern Cottage Inspired Kitchen | ORC Reveal

Hello sweet friends, I am so excited to be sharing with you the reveal of our One Room Challenge! The past few weeks have flown by and I am happy to say we made it. We are so excited to have participated as a guest this year and love how our space turned out!

Last week was a little rough since the little ones and I ended up sick.  Luckily we didn’t fall too far behind and was able to finish on time!

Here’s a little reminder of what the space looked like before.

We loved how cozy my husband’s, grandparent’s kitchen was, but the cabinets made the space dark and cluttered looking. We brightened it up with lots of fresh white paint and a smaller dining room table and chairs. We also added a bench for the little ones to have a little extra seating under the window.

To give the space more character, we painted the vintage cabinets with Rust-Oleum Chalked Ultra Matte Paint in Charcoal and added copper pulls from Rejuvenation. I decided to go ahead and leave the top cabinets open to help the space feel more welcoming. Once we move in I’m sure they will be a bit more filled, but it will be easier for guests to make themselves at home.

We also moved the original plaque to the top cabinets to make it stand out a little more. I love that we were able to keep a lot of the space true to the original layout Shane’s grandparents built.

One of my favorite changes to our space was the gorgeous farmhouse sink from Sinkology.

I am honored we were able to work with them and their handmade fireclay sink was the perfect focal point for our small space. I love how the beautiful aged faucet looks with the copper. You can see more on how we installed the fireclay sink here.

Since our space was lacking storage I decided to use a copper bar rack to help keep the sink area clutter free. I also added fresh herbs to our new white stone counter tops.

Overall I love how bright and inviting our little kitchen turned out!

We still need to install the appliances to the opposite wall, but that unfortunately wont be until closer to our move in date. Luckily it is just a few short weeks away!
