Hi friends! Welcome back for this weeks update on our ORC. This week has been a bit hectic with everyone catching a head cold so we didn’t get as much done as I would have liked. We were able to start the floors and hang up the wallpaper on our focal wall . Luckily the room is starting to come together with just a few projects to finish up before the reveal.
Surprising hanging the wallpaper was easier than we thought! It only took a few hours to finish our focal wall behind the table. I’ve been eyeing this pattern from Anthroplogie for sometime and was super excited to find it from Wallpaper Direct for a lot less.
I love how the color matches our cabinets and helps cozy up the space. I still need to paint the bench and find cushions this weekend. But we got started on installing the floor.
Since we plan to restore the hardwood floor in the connecting rooms we decided to go with these Carrara Marble 12 in. x 24 in. Peel and Stick Vinyl Tiles from TrafficMASTER. They are super easy to install and you only need a few simple tools.
How To Install Vinyl Floors
Vinyl Floor tiles
To start make sure you clean your floor well to remove any dirt or grime. After its dry apply a layer of primer, let it sit while you make any cuts to our vinyl tiles. remove paper backing from tile and place on in desired pattern. Repeat, making cuts as needed. Simple! Just make sure you have your pattern in mind before you start and all the arrows on the back point the same way to keep the pattern going the same direction.
Since we applied our tile over the existing tile we were able to use the squares as a guide.
We still need to paint the trim, but it is moving pretty quickly! I love how they marble make our small kitchen seem bigger.
