Viewpoint Cottage Progress

Hello friends! We’ve been working hard over at the cottage and although we haven’t gotten as far as we hoped, we are still planning on moving in before the New Year! As with any sort of renovation, we’ve hit a few problems, but luckily nothing too major so far. I decided to share with you some progress photos but not look too closely there is still A LOT of work to be done!

Here are the before and after photos of our little cottage.

This is the main living room before any renovations. The home belonged to my husband’s grandparents’ so it was a bit dated. We started with painting the walls and ceiling with Kilz paint and also ripped up the old carpet. The floor will eventually need to be refinished, we just wont have time to do that this winter.

Here is one of the little ones bedroom. We painted everything and also removed the carpet. Unfortunately when we removed the carpet, it left the old padding attached to the floor. We ended up having to scrape it off using paint thinner, lets just say this was not my favorite room!

Here is the other kiddos bedroom, luckily this room just need paint since the floors were already finished.

We still have a lot to do before move in but it is already looking much better!
